TAKE SIXTY THREE e

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

Well, did you contain your anticipation for seeing this shot of the Merganzer  oops -Goosander, promised you last week? Was it worth the build-up? That little fellow spotted me half a mile off and swam right against the flow to come check out the YAMarazzi!

  1. Oh that is too funny the YAMarazzi was MERGANZERarazzi.
Is the beak hooked downward at the end or is that food on it?

As David rightly pointed out last week, I had mislabelled per they UK definition of this bird. It ought to be Goosander - and because I prepost a month ahead, had to correct again today!

Yes, Miss C - the bill does indeed have a sharp downturn at the end and although not visible here, the bill is also serrated along its length. Yxx
