There was a time when just about all the ships of the world were built on the Clydeside; two parts, the firth (seen from my window) and the river... and it is the river side which was home to endless shipyards. There are still a few operational, but much depleted from yesteryear. ... It is still one of the busiest shipping channels in the world... may have to do a post on it!!! YAM xx
